Meet Simon Creed!
Simon James Creed
My name is Simon James Creed and I am originally from Preston, Lancashire in the UK. I am 37 years old and after working in IT for 12 years I decided that wasn't for me anymore and set my sites on going travelling in 2008. Originally with a 1 year 13 country plan I made my way to Phuket, Thailand which changed the plan somewhat as I have now been here for nearly 6 years. I successfully did my PADI dive master course in July 2008 and my instructor course in December the same year. Since then I have made my way up the rankings and have since earned the Padi Master Instructor rating. In the past few years I have racked up over 2500 dives in the Andaman Sea and still love the diving we have here. What more could I wish for having some of the world's best diving right here on our door step.
In my spare time I enjoy relaxing on Phuket's glorious beaches and also enjoy a good spy thriller movie. When it comes to music I have a very diverse taste which can change from day to day.
Obviously I love the great local food but you still can't beat a good bowl of Italian pasta from time to time. -

Macro Heaven – Anilao, Philippine
Early November Typhoon "petrel" was one of the most powerful Typhoon to have ever landed in the Philippines, Big Blue Diving would like to express our deepest sympathy to the families and the people who died in the disaster.
For all the divers, although this was an unfortunate incident, The Philippines is still a safe and joyous tourist destination, they are a strong nation, full of optimism and we hope they are able to complete reconstruction work as soon as possible and return to normal life.
Fortunately, Anilao was not affected by the typhoon and the glorious marine life are still happily swimming around divers.

Know How
What is Enriched Air Diver?

In this issue of the New Diver list, you may have found that there are several students who obtained certification of PADI Enriched Air Diver, for the students who haven't contacted us the course might seem very curious, why do I need certification of Enriched Air Diver? What is the difference from the air I usually use?
Let me make an introduction for you:Scuba Diving with Enriched Air Nitrox
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI's most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it's easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.
What You Learn?
- Techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox
- Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations
- Enriched air considerations, including managing oxygen exposure, how to tell what's in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer
Time Required
- You can self study the theory at your comfort home
- You will spend about 3 hours in reviewing knowledge with instructor in the classroom
- If you just sign up for our dive trip that you can truly experience the different feelings of the enriched air nitrox during trip
Kindly Remind – To Students of Big Blue Diving
Maybe lots of diving students don't know but there are time limitation for PADI referral courses. Following are the regulations:
If a diving student has not done a diving course and want to continue to complete the course in another place, you can through the transfer his referral form to another PADI instructor.
The maximum time limit is 12 months from the last day of the training course.
Exception: Adventure Diver course and Specialty Diver course are without time limit.
For example, when you finished the theory and confined water session of PADI Open Water Diver Course Big Blue Diving (also applicable for other courses), if you plan to transfer to another dive center to complete your open water session, you then need to complete the training in the following 12 months. If you are too busy, and you didn't remember to finish the open water training until a year after, then according to PADI's policy that you must restudy theory and the swimming pool session.
Those students who have not completed all course, please do check your course record, don't forget to complete in the due time!
